before we start, let me extend a BIG thank you to all you lovely people who have decided to follow the progress on my book. Very recently Cookie Break reached – and has now passed – 50 followers on the blog itself! I know this won’t be a big deal to a lot of you but it feels like a small milestone has been reached, and I’m planning for something hopefully interesting for you guys. Some book related, some personal. But we’ll get to that in a minute 🙂
Now, to the actual progress update. There’s not much to report this week. As you’ll already have seen, MonkeyBlood Design finished the maps for Rise of the Sparrows earlier this week and they look amazing! We’re slowly nearing the day I start editing and I’m looking forward to getting started. New tea bags have been bought, cookies have been arranged, energy drinks are waiting – I’m all ready for the 16th to arrive!
We’re also nearing the end of the year. Somehow. Already. How is it November already? How can it be Christmas next month? Next. month! I don’t know where my year went, guys, I really don’t. I’ve scheduled all remaining weekly quotes for the rest of the year but there’s something more exciting coming your way. Something directly book related.
You may remember that I promised some character profiles when I first finished the first draft. Well, we could do that, but I thought some plain character profiles would be a little boring, perhaps, so what you’ll get instead is this:
I’ll write some short stories on each main character showing them in their everyday lives, before Rise of the Sparrows starts. This will give you some good insights into who these people are, what their personalities are like, what they want – and all without spoiling the plot!
Additionally, I thought it’d been a while since I last told you anything about me, personally. Months ago I had some posts like that but since then I’ve earned, roughly, half of my followers, so a lot of you won’t know anything about the girl holding the plate of cookies!
So, on Tuesdays, you will get some info on me for a few weeks. How I first got into writing, what my history with books is, and some others along the same lines. The character Meet&Greets will be out on Thursdays, and will be titled just that – Meet&Greet: Rachael. Meet&Greet: Cephy.
Watch this space!
And have a good weekend. Always give yourself a good weekend.
