I spent so much time editing that I completely forgot to prepare a post for today! So I’m winging it 🙂 It’ll be another short one – partly because I forgot and partly because there’s somehow still so much editing left to do!
If the prompt speaks to you feel free to borrow it – if you publish it please link back here so I can have a read! 🙂
This week’s prompt chosen at random is…
Your favourite hiding place
I didn’t want to hear their screaming, or their crying. Their accusations. So I ran to the playground, knowing no one would find me there even if they did come looking for me.
Two older kids were by the fence, smoking, but they paid no attention to me.
Quickly I made my way over to the hedge which circled around the whole playground. There were no gaps for people to enter or leave on this side, only a small hole between the branches and leafs perfect for me to squeeze through.
I went inside and walked all the way to the part where it wasn’t as narrow. I could just about stand up, but twigs caught in my hair and scratched my skin nonetheless. No one could see me here, hidden away by the shrubs.
It was my safe place, and I would stay here until the screaming stopped.
