  6. Oh, hi! I came down to your blog to say something else, but happy blogiversary indeed!

Wanted to let you know, I just finished reading Rise of Sparrows 20 minutes ago.

Need to gather my thoughts and maybe write a little review thingie for when I make a photo of the book for IG, but I liked it.

You’ve done a good job and I could see so much of your own heart in the book.

There were great ideas and some very interesting characters (Cephy, Aeron and the king) and some that can be developed into truly amazing ones (Rachael, Cale), loved the pace at which the plot moved and that you used 3rd person past tense and left out romance (for now). And of course the reveal at the epilogue and setting up a stage for the next book – well done!

There were perhaps a few spots that have slipped past the watchful eye of an editor, a few typos and inconsistencies. But these are editing issues mostly and did not take much from the enjoyment of the story.

Also, if I may suggest something regarding formatting for your next book. It didn’t bother me too much, but if you ‘justify’ the text instead of the default ‘left align’, then that will make it look more professional πŸ™‚

Oh, and the matte-cover – good choice! I think it’s my first truly matte cover and it feels amazing.

    • Goodness, I wasn’t expecting a review! Thank you! ^-^ (for the IG review, too) I’ve yet to read a book where the editor didn’t miss a thing, but we’ll be even more vigilant next time πŸ™‚
Thank you, I’ll look into justifying the text for the sequel πŸ™‚
Thank you! I always preferred matt for my prints when I studied photography, and I read that glossy covers attract finger prints like nobody’s business so it was an easy choice ^-^

      • I don’t think I actually intended to write a review’ish comment. Original plan was to let you know I’ve finished reading and I’ve liked the book. But then some emotions and thoughts slipped out.. oops!

  7. Happy birthday for cookie break. Indulge in all the cake and biscuits!!!

    • Thank you!! I’ve actually made brownies a couple of days ago, I’ll indulge in whatever’s left later ^-^

Get a tea and a cookie, and let's chat!
