I nearly forgot about this post!! Thank God for tea working miracles, hm? 😛 So…. Happy Monday, everyone! It’s 8:22am and I suppose I’d better get this post ready…
As always, if the prompt speaks to you feel free to use it. If you do, please link back here so I can be nosy and read your interpretation 😉
A kid in your grade whom you don’t know very well shows up at your house one day to tell you something important. What does he look like? What does he say?
“Mina, come on down!” my Mum shouted from downstairs. “One of your friends is here!”
I sighed, and walked downstairs. None of my friends had texted me; they wouldn’t just show up.
I hesitated when I saw who was waiting by the door. Harry Durham. The quiet kid in my class who always sat at the back by himself. The one I’d never talked to.
Just why did Mum think we were friends?
“What do you want?”
Harry Durham didn’t say anything. He simply handed me a crumbled up note and left. That was the last time I saw him. He was murdered over night.
The note he had given me didn’t say much, only Run. So I didn’t. I didn’t even know him. Why should I do what the quiet kid from the back of the class room told me?
And I’ve regretted it every day since.
