May Goals

After the busy April I had I’m setting fewer goals for May. I don’t have three weeks to work from home this month and I did finish a couple of bigger deadlines, so May is allowed to be quieter*.

That doesn’t mean the few deadlines I’ve set aren’t big, though. BUT you’ll notice I’m going easier on myself overall <3

Since I’m editing the books of two authors and had requests from another three, I want to leave plenty of room for their books, as well.

*See? I can be nice to myself, too! *glances at self-imposed deadlines* *laughs nervously*

Relics of Ar’Zac

I want to finish the first read-through of Blood of the Dragon* and add as many changes as May allows. If there’s time, I’ll begin my first developmental round, too. As it is I’ve almost finished the read-through, so it’s looking good!

Since Blood Wisp is resting now, I can give the prequel to Relics my full attention. I’m really pleased with how it’s going, and might even have a first excerpt at the end of the month ๐Ÿ˜‰

*Note: FINISHED YESTERDAY *throws all the confetti*

Blood Wisp

With the first draft of Book 1 done, I want to plot Blood Song (#2) and Blood Vow (#3). It doesn’t need to happen this month, but it’d be nice to get it out of the way. I won’t do full outlines like I did with Blood Wisp. I tried it, but my usual plotting routine works just fine and is quicker for me.

Darkened Light

The line edit is progressing well and I’m hopeful that we’ll finish it this month. Which means I’ll be asking for betas later in May.

Honestly, this never gets any easier less terrifying.

Editing

I’m going to include my editing jobs from now on since they are on my to-do list and take up a fair amount of time <3

I’m currently doing one line edit and one developmental edit. The developmental edit is in the read-through-and-take-notes stage, but line edits tend to be more full on, so I’m focusing my attention on that.

Between those two and the other three enquiries I mentioned above, I should be busy for a while, which makes a nice change*.

If you’re thinking about booking your own editor soon, be sure to do it early–as you can see, we get booked quickly!

*cries into tea. my tears are caffeine tbh

And that’s it! :O Nothing at all compared to April, right?

What are your goals this month? ๐Ÿ™‚
