August Recap

August has been a bit of a weird month for me. Do you ever feel like you’ve achieved nothing even though a to-do list with tons of ticks is staring at you – but it’s not burnout?

That’s my August, and sums up my entire summer.

I’m learning to be kinder to myself. Say it with me:

I’m proud of my progress this month. I did good. Maybe I haven’t achieved everything, but that’s okay. I’m heading in the right direction, and that’s what matters.

Easier said than believed, I know. But maybe it’s a start.

So, instead of looking at what I haven’t achieved this month, I want to keep this positive. We’ll turn August’s negatives into positives in September. Right now, we got shit done and I’d like us to be proud of that.

I even have a giveaway for you!

Darkened Light

It’s out in the world and honestly? It’s getting some fantastic reviews. People are comparing it to Dragon Age*, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Brandon Sanderson’s books** and I couldn’t be more chuffed.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make release week great <3

*one of my favourite things EVER
** *sings* these are a few of my favourite thiiiings!

Relics of Ar’Zac

I’M ALMOST THERE! I’ve got fewer than fifty pages to go on BLOOD OF THE DRAGON, and I’m itching to send it to my critique partners.

I can’t wait for this edit to be over, it’s honestly been the worst ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s more, my cover designer is hard at work on SHADOW IN AR’SANCIOND. I should see the proofs any day now and can’t wait to share them and the blurb with you.

Don’t forget to sign up for my mailing list if you’d like to see the cover before it’s official! My cover designer does good work, so you know it’s worth it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Blood Wisp

Books 2 and 3, BLOOD SONG and BLOOD VOW, are fully outlined and ready to be written. More on my goals for September next Friday ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m taking an online course on organic blog traffic (will review if it provides results!) and will remodel my blog a little* to reflect what I’m learning.

It should help drive more traffic to my site, but it will also make it easier for you who are already here**.

*read: it may become unrecognisable. The content will be the same though!

Brighton Book Bash

I have a surprise giveaway for you! If you’d like to attend the British Book Bash in Brighton this November, Saturday 10th, let me know you’re interested in winning two tickets by leaving a comment below ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nothing complicated required, it’s as simple as that!

What have you achieved this month? Make a tea and share your August successes with me! <3

  1. Thanks for the motivation! โค๏ธ I didn’t get much blogging or writing done this month, but I did a lot of wedding planning. So I’m proud of that. Congratulations on all of your progress this month! I can’t wait to hear about this class you’re taking!

You definitely have nothing to feel guilty about. Wedding planning is HUGE (congratulations!) and since you have a deadline that involves other people you can’t exactly put it off ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m about to make some changes to this site based on what the course has taught me. As soon as I see results, I’ll review it!

      • Thanks!! ๐Ÿ˜Š Sometimes I wish I could put it off though. Haha.

I hope the class pays off! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Haha! It’ll be worth it ๐Ÿ™‚
